Your Premier Youth Theatre Destination.
A Broadway-World nominated theatre company for young performers.
PASSIONATE ABOUT INSPIRING OTHERS
Rising Stars Youth Theatre is Sussex County's premier youth theatre company dedicated exclusively to young performers in grades 2 through 12.
As a Broadway-World nominee and a Best of Sussex County FINALIST for Live Theatre 5 years running (2022–2026), we have been transforming young talent into confident performers since 2017.
Now in our 10th year of programming, we have served over 600 students across the Tri-State area—including Northern New Jersey (Sussex, Morris, Passaic, and Warren Counties), Pennsylvania (Pike and Monroe Counties), and New York (Orange and Rockland Counties).
Through professional-quality musical theatre productions, summer intensives, and year-round workshops, we create a space where everyone’s a star—on our stage and beyond.
Exclusively Dedicated to Young Performers
We are proudly the only youth theatre organization in the area exclusively dedicated to working with children and teens. We do not mix adult actors with our young performers!
Unlike traditional community theatre groups where adults often take primary roles, our youth-exclusive model guarantees that every opportunity belongs to our students:
-
True Role Equity: Every lead, supporting, and ensemble role is played by a young performer based on their ability, growth, and passion.
-
Age-Appropriate Mentorship: A safe, supportive, and inclusive space where students learn, collaborate, and build lifelong friendships alongside peers their own age.
-
Uncompromising Standards: High-level artistic instruction that treats young actors with respect while building genuine discipline and stage presence.
.
Our Vision:
At Rising Stars, we believe in the power of theatre to transform lives. We envision a world where every young person is given the chance to shine brightly and discover their unique potential. Through the magic of the performing arts, we aim to inspire, educate, and create unforgettable experiences that resonate far beyond the stage.
Our Journey:
Since our inception in 2017, we’ve embarked on a remarkable journey. Our dedicated team of educators, professionals, and volunteers has worked tirelessly to provide a safe and inclusive space for young individuals to explore their passions. Over the last decade, we’ve witnessed hundreds of young performers discover their voices, develop confidence, and build friendships that last a lifetime.
What We Offer:
Rising Stars offers performance intensives and full-scale productions that captivate audiences of all ages. From high-energy Summer Theatre Intensives (STIs) to 13-week Fall and Spring mainstage workshops, our programming continues to grow. We embrace diversity and encourage creativity, ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or experience level, feels welcomed, valued, and empowered.
Community and Impact:
We believe that theatre is strongest when rooted in local connection.
Beyond technical skills and stage presence, Rising Stars is committed to enriching the cultural fabric of Sussex County through collaborative partnerships and local outreach.
We proudly partner with The First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, whose supportive home and facility allow our programs to flourish right in the heart of the community.
